Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity aims to expand home ownership

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity is expanding its reach to help more people achieve the dream of homeownership.
The organization has now been certified by the federal government as an official housing counseling agency. That allows it to offer expanded services across Monroe, Ontario and Wayne counties, including homebuyer education and counseling.
Habitat leaders say the designation also strengthens their ability to connect buyers with affordable mortgage options.
